Network as a Service: the network as a service
With Network as a Service you do not buy equipment but a working network. Switches, access points and firewall are included, as are the management, the updates and the replacement on failure. You pay per month and per site, and what exactly stands there is our concern as long as it does what was agreed.
Where the service starts and stops
Four parts. The last is the one most contracts stay quiet about.
- Equipment includedSwitches, access points and firewall remain ours. On a failure a replacement arrives, and that sits in the rate rather than in a separate quote.
- Management and updatesFirmware, settings and monitoring continue without anyone at your end having to remember. A switch not updated for three years is a risk nobody sees.
- Growing and shrinkingAn extra site is a line on the contract. If one closes we collect the equipment and the charge stops, with no depreciation running on for something no longer there.
- What happens at the endAt the end of the contract we take the equipment back or you buy it at residual value. That is settled in advance, not in the conversation afterwards.
How we take over a site
Three steps. The switchover falls outside office hours and there is a way back until it works.
Measure what is there
We map the current equipment, the cabling and the usage. What the drawing says and what hangs in the cabinet are rarely the same.
Run them side by side
The new network arrives before the old one leaves. That makes the switchover a choice rather than a jump, and lets us step back if something does not add up.
Hand over and monitor
After the switchover the monitoring continues with us. You get the drawing, the settings and the passwords, including if you carry on with someone else later.
What goes with this
The network rarely stands alone. These are the services attached to it in practice.
A network that grows with the business
Tell us where your sites are and what hangs there now. You get a setup with a monthly amount per site, and an honest sum against buying it yourself.
