What Gigaset makes
Gigaset is a German manufacturer whose centre of gravity is DECT. The N670 covers a single office, the N870 scales on to a multicell setup with hundreds of handsets and roaming between base stations; the R700H is the variant that takes dust and a drop. Alongside that sits the Maxwell line as a fixed desk phone.
Why Gigaset, and where it stops
Gigaset is the cheapest route to cordless across a large building: the N870 roams between base stations without dropping a call, and on DECT that costs a fraction of the tuning Wi-Fi telephony asks for. Where it stops is at the top end, because the handsets are simpler than those of the healthcare brands and carry no alerting or integration with other systems.
