Arista makes switches for the datacentre and runs a single operating system on them: EOS, identical on every model and with an ordinary Linux underneath. That last part is why the brand took off with organisations that treat their network as software. The 7000 series is the datacentre work; the 720 and 750 series bring the same approach into wired offices.
