Healthcare IT that keeps care moving
Clinical workstations, wireless coverage on the ward and patient data that stays where it belongs. We manage the technology in the background so your teams can keep their attention on the patient.
In healthcare, an outage is never only an IT problem
When a workstation on the ward stops responding, the delay does not stay inside the IT department. It moves straight into the care process.
Healthcare organisations run on systems that were never designed to wait. An electronic patient record has to open at the bedside, a medication check has to complete before the round continues, and a mobile workstation has to reconnect the moment it rolls into the next corridor. None of that leaves room for a queue.
At the same time, healthcare works under stricter conditions than most sectors. The data involved is special category personal data under the GDPR, access has to be traceable, and clinical applications are often supplied and updated by third parties on their own schedule. That combination makes healthcare IT a question of discipline rather than improvisation.
ITproposal has been building that discipline since 2019, for more than 150 clients across the Benelux and beyond. We work as the bridge between strategy and technology: a fixed point of contact in the Netherlands or Belgium who understands your environment, with our own shift keeping the nights, weekends and holiday periods covered.
What tends to go wrong
The recurring pattern is fragmentation. Application management sits with one supplier, the network with another, and the workstations somewhere in between. When something breaks, the opening stretch of the outage disappears into working out whose problem it is. We remove that step by putting one service desk in front of the whole chain and taking ownership of the handover to your application suppliers.
Six building blocks for a care environment that keeps running
Take the components you need now and add the rest as your organisation grows. Everything sits under one contract, one report and one point of contact.
- Service desk for care teamsA single point of contact for nurses, practitioners and back office staff, with tickets logged, prioritised and answered within the agreed SLA. More on our IT Service Desk.
- Clinical workstation managementManaged desktops, laptops and mobile carts, kept patched and consistent, so a shared login on a busy ward behaves the same on every floor.
- Wireless coverage on the wardSite surveys and network design for corridors, treatment rooms and basements, because a mobile workstation is only as good as its weakest access point. See Managed Network.
- Security and access controlMulti-factor authentication, role-based access, logging and monitoring, so you can show who looked at which record and when. See Cybersecurity.
- Backup and continuityTested restores, documented recovery routes and a clear fallback for the moment a critical system is unavailable during a shift.
- Supplier coordinationWe hold the line with your clinical application vendors, chase escalations and translate their release notes into changes your teams actually notice.
NEN 7510 and the GDPR, in plain terms
NEN 7510 is the Dutch standard for information security in healthcare. It builds on the international ISO 27001 framework and adds the controls that healthcare specifically needs: careful handling of patient data, traceable access, and agreements that hold up when a third party touches the environment. Alongside it, the GDPR sets the legal boundaries for processing health data and for the processor agreements you sign with your suppliers.
Our position on this is straightforward. ITproposal is certified to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 14001 and Kiwa NEN 4400-1. We are not certified to NEN 7510 and we do not present ourselves as such. You hold that certification for your own organisation; our job is to deliver the technical and procedural controls that support it, not to claim it on your behalf.
How that works in practice
- Access, logging and retention set up so an audit question can be answered with evidence
- Clear processor agreements and documented responsibilities per system
- Change and incident records kept in a form your auditor can follow
If an internal audit flags a gap, we translate the finding into concrete work in the environment and report on it in the monthly cycle.
How we take over a care environment
Care does not pause for a migration, so we move in stages and never touch a clinical system without a way back.
Survey
We map the workstations, the network, the clinical applications and the suppliers behind them, and record which systems cannot be interrupted during a shift.
Stabilise
First we fix what hurts daily: patching, wireless dead spots, shared accounts and the tickets that keep coming back. The service desk goes live so nothing gets lost while we work.
Secure
Access control, logging, backup verification and monitoring are brought up to standard, in line with the requirements your NEN 7510 and GDPR obligations place on the environment.
Run and improve
Monthly reporting on volumes, resolution times and recurring causes, translated into structural improvements instead of a growing ticket count.
Local expertise, global cover
Founded in the Netherlands by Enes Bagci and Tunahan Gider, with delivery teams that keep working when your ward does.
Coverage across the Netherlands and Belgium, with remote support as the default and on-site work where hardware needs a pair of hands. Staffing, cloud and advisory work are available too. Call 085 060 9347 or email [email protected] to talk through what makes sense in your situation.
Where healthcare IT borders on other work
Most care organisations start with one of these and grow into the rest.
Talk through your care environment
Tell us which systems cannot stand still and where your teams lose time today. We will map the environment with you and set out what needs attention first.
